Process makes perfect

Three years later, redesigning our active alarm state seemed like a no-brainer:

1️⃣ Leave negative space at the top of the screen to allow for live messages from our dispatchers
2️⃣ Show users where they are on a live map in order to a. give them confidence we know where they are, b. empower them to seek safety in more populated areas nearby (surprise learning from our qualitative interviews!), and c. show them first responders narrowing in on their location (another surprise learning!)
3️⃣ Flip the connotation of a false alarm from negative to positive by making the CTA more approachable (i.e. remove scary words like ‘cancel’ and ‘alarm’)
