Burqas among school girls

In 2019, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government in Pakistan implemented a policy requiring schoolgirls to wear burqas. This decision was a significant setback for the ongoing feminist movement striving for gender equality in the country. By imposing this restrictive dress code, the government undermined the freedom and choices of young women, demonstrating a misguided belief that covering up provides protection. In response to this policy, I created this artwork to highlight these concerns.
