Book cover design exploration

This is a personal project as I've recently been wanting to challenge myself to design a book cover. I read this book around 6 months ago and decided to go for it. It's a famous piece of literature and it's no surprise that the majority of the covers I've found use a red apple as a key in design. I decided to shift the focus and lean on a mix of symbols that represent the key points of the story and its atmosphere.
