Mandala

Turkish mosaic designs and Byzantine architecture during my trip to Turkey were the source of inspiration for this mandala. My goal was to create a fusion of the lotus mandala and wheel mandala, using the contrast between different shades of complementary colors and the contrast between fluid and straight lines to create a modern feel. I wanted to mimic the transparency of stained glass windows by using muted shades of orange and blue with small accents of green and red, another set of complementary colors.
