Knight down, knight down!

Which should never happen. If you have responsibility for something, you have to have the ability/power/control/authority to make decisions for how it's made. If other people can make those decisions and force you to obey them, then you're not the one responsible for the results of your work. Which is an irresponsible and unprofessional way to work.
