Graphic the Valley book cover proposal

One of ten proposed book covers for the 2013 release of Graphic the Valley, by Peter Brown Hoffmeister. This story takes place in the Yosemite Valley and deals with a young man who struggles with his identity as a local american indian, namesake, and the confrontations of modern development in an old land. I've been playing with a lot of old maps, public domain imagery and contemporary typefaces.
