What about doing package design not on a 2d boring inDesign layout and not sending your customer a 2d pdf? We created a actually 3d demo of the packaging because this is the only way you can imagine the final product.

This is a first demo. The shadow map is not finally adjusted ... but it looks pretty good so far.
