This illustration series was done for an ocean conservation initiative in an attempt to bring awareness the the current threats our reefs are facing. Adobe and Pantone releases a series of 3 colors based on the vivid hues corals emit when stressed, blue, purple, and yellow.

This piece features a personification of the endangered Staghorn coral. We lost 97% of the global Staghorn population in the mid-1980's during a mass mortality event. The remaining 3% now faces various climate change threats.

*This project is very close to my heart. As an avid scuba diver I've witnessed the devastation of coral bleaching first hand. I wanted to portray corals they way I see them; as nurturing beings, and caretakers of our marine life.
