ATP Mobile App : Players Section - Filters (Entry Point)

Although the initial testing for the filter entry point in the navigation went well, there was an important scenario to consider with an additional subset of information needing validation.

Scenario:
What happens if the user is met with a search result with no players presented?
Subset Information: Would they know why there are no results? If they had filters active, would they be aware of that being the cause?

User Testing Findings

Left:
The state change of the iconography did not provide a clear enough indicator that a filter as active. This was often overlooked and result in the users abandoning the task out of frustration/lack of clarity.

Right:
Although all of the filter options were not presented, there was a better understanding of the varying states of the filter with this treatment. The users were able to complete the task (and make the necessary changes) with much less effort than the example on the left.
