Maycliff Development Logo Design

Maycliff Homes is a luxury home development company based in Hermosa Beach California. They came to us in need of a new logo. A common challenge with any company that has a family name like, Maycliff, or has something to do a home is the limited number of ideas. Real Estate teams often pose the same challenge. So much of what you can do with a house shape as been done before and it’s tough to come up with something original. The other option is to do a monogram of the name. Sort of like where we ended up here.

During the discovery phase of this project the client mentioned he uses a lot of mid-century modern furniture in his homes. He also mentioned he wanted something that felt strong, and confident, yet coastal. After flushing out many ideas we found an image in an architecture magazine of a mid-century modern home with a hexagonal clock on the wall. I started playing with the same of the hexagon and really liked how the M felt inside the shape. It checked the boxes for mid-century modern, strong, and confident. To touch on the coastal element we suggested a color pallet of black, white, and a dusty blue.

After the logo was finalized we were able to help the client with the design of job signs and custom fence wraps for his jobs sites.
