For Minitheory's Daily UI Challenge #005 - Activity Feed

Concept: A social place to see what people are cooking/baking, and to share and request recipes.

Time taken: ~ 2 hours
Tools: Figma (for design), GIPHY (for screen capture)
Resources: Unsplash, Flaticon
Font: Rubik

Learning reflections: My starting point for this Daily UI was only that I wanted to make a colourful app. Inspired by some Chinese apps. Overall, I quite liked the result.

It was also one of my first times exploring Figma's prototyping functions. Although the vertical scroll is quite a simple prototyping feature, I'm quite happy that I managed to make the whole thing work properly. It did require a bit of tinkering around, but that is where the fun is, isn't it?

Also learnt some finer points on bottom navigation bars and how to emphasise the active tab to the user. These are things I've never noticed while using apps, and only started paying attention to them after I assumed the role of a pseudo-designer (through this UI Daily challenge).

(uploading this 10 months after I made it, but still quite happy with the result)
