SpoonRead

The Challenge
How might we stimulate a motivation and joy for learning and reading in children and give schools a new and novel method of fundraising?

My Role
I was brought in as an early-stage Product Consultant to help to translate the Founders vision into a product that aligned business goals with user’s needs. This included market and landscape research, product design and pitch deck development.

The Process

Landscape and market research & competitive analysis
As an early-stage startup it’s important to conduct landscape and market research in order to validate assumptions, gain insights, plan strategically, and identify opportunities.

User research
SpoonRead has three types of users; students, parents and educators. I conducted informal field research and Lean UX to start to paint a picture of who our users might be; their UX goals, triggers, pain points, and motivations.

Functional specification and product roadmap
Now it was time to fuse the product vision with the insights gained during research and get down to the nitty-gritty defining the product, defining and prioritizing features and planning releases.
