Tarot Card Series 1: 0 The Fool
(**Getting caught up on Dribbble –and you may have seen these all on my Instagram, bear 🐻with me. These are for sale via me for now. And in black and white, and in large cards.)
Last week/this past weekend, I took a different approach to the Tarot card illustrations. Instead of sketching, inking, coloring, and detailing 1-by-1, I did rough sketches for 5 cards first. Then I inked them. Then I added in flat colors, and finally, after that, I did the shading/detailing. I liked doing the mini-assembly-line way instead because it kept my mind in the same mode (even if I did it on a different night). I knew that the next five things I would draw would be the ‘same’!
I’m still going to finish this series, but I’m not sure if all 22 will be available at Bitchcraft – but, I’ll definitely still sell ‘em afterward, too! I’ve gotta start ordering things for print 😅😅😅 \ I’m almost finished with the actual card design (check out the second photo for the mock front and back). They’ll include the brief description with the card on the front and a little bit more detailing around to give it a card feel – even though these will be larger than the regular Tarot Cards normally are.
From Tarot.com: "The Fool is the first card in a Tarot deck because he is the most vulnerable of all the Tarot's archetypes. He has not yet experienced the ups and downs of life, leaving him unaware of the magnitude of life's challenges, and the strength and potential he holds. When The Fool comes up in a Tarot reading, you are encouraged to take on his open, willing energy and embrace all that lies ahead of you without worry.” 😜
