logo design for 50 Percent

🎨 Logo design for 50 Percent, a project that documents the gender breakdown of panels and speaker line-ups at conferences (https://50percent.speakerinnen.org).

📝 This logo was done in collaboration with Jan Borchardt (https://jancborchardt.net/). As we developed it, we explored different possibilities and settled on a simple and multifunctional shape that is reminiscent of both a pie chart (to display information visually, like the site does) and a speech bubble (a reference to conferences and public speaking).

🌱 We used Montserrat as a typeface to mirror the round and geometric shape of the logo and to stay true to 50 Percent’s open source roots.
