Gively

Gively is a project completed during Women Who Code's Diversity Hackathon 2019 in Austin, TX. Myself and a team of 3 UI Engineers and 1 other UX Designer worked through an entire weekend, fueled only by coffee and determination.

Gively is a gamified volunteering app, designed to reward volunteers further for their contributions. Volunteers earn points for hours given, which turn into rewards that can be donated to a nonprofit of their choice.

This is distinct from current "dollars for doers" model, where employers are the main drivers of such programs. Gively could replace that model as well as open it to anyone who volunteers, not just employees of a specific company.

Studies** show that 64% of millennials consider a company’s social and environmental commitments when deciding where to work. Also, 54% of employees are more likely to be engaged
in their work if they're proud of their company's contributions to society.

These designs were created in Sketch 58.

Resources used include Undraw, Unsplash, and logos from local nonprofits. Undraw ROCKS, the illustrations are open source, high quality, and easy to manipulate in Sketch.

I'm really proud of my team's work! Can't wait to work with them again.
