Pears to Pairs — Submit Card Animation

In the aftermath of the 2016 US Presidential election, our clients, Facebook and Matter, challenged our class to explore the relationships between trust and online media in hopes of increasing political participation.

After speaking to college students throughout the country, we found that students typically consume their news through social media, resulting in a surface-level understanding of the current events. This absence of depth in their news comprehension creates a lack of confidence. This prevents the kind of discussions that can often lead to political participation.

To address this disconnect, we created Pears to Pairs — a real-time multiplayer Facebook Messenger game that asks players to compare recent political events to those in pop culture.
