Forty years ago, the construction of one of the world's largest Railways, the Baikal - Amur mainline (BAM), began in Eastern Siberia. The road crossing the impassable taiga, majestic mountain ranges and wide rivers, gave the country a second exit to the Pacific ocean and opened access to the natural resources of the distant land.
