Manifest

In July of 2017, we were approached by legendary tattoo artist Fernie Andrade to help create an identity for his new tattoo studio, Manifest.

As Fernie was sharing his life story and vision for Manifest with us, he reflected that designing tattoos had saved his life; had he not had that outlet in his youth, he believes that he would not be alive today.

Rather than following the design tropes that are typically associated with the tattoo industry, we chose to pursue a bold and straightforward direction that would help Manifest stand apart from any other tattoo studio. The logo, an “M” letter-mark in the shape of a coffin, embodies Fernie’s personal triumph, which was then paired alongside the striking visual aesthetic of textured surfaces painted white or black to reflect the nature of tattoos.
