The Sharpie

Honestly, I’m still not sure what happened. I was just laying around and enjoying my day, when a man with tiny hands and orange tinted skin picked me up and started to draw. It only took a few seconds. My cap came off, I made a semicircle around the state of Alabama, and I was done. I went back to my drawer and began thinking about my diner plans, not even giving the whole incident a second thought.

By the next morning, I realized something must have gone terribly wrong. My voicemail had messages from CNN and Fox News requesting interviews. My inbox was full of emails from reporters across the country. The New York Times wanted to do an in-depth story on my past and how I landed in my current position. The whole thing got out of hand very quickly.

I really just want to be left alone. I didn’t ask for this.
