Andy Warhol meets John Muir in Craft Beer Can Design

Mini Muir is a hazy pale ale inspired by John Muir and the Redwood forests around the Bay area. Loaded with sappy, piney hops and a vibrant bright aroma, I wanted to encapsulate the flavor in the design. My process begins with concepting and mood boarding, I look outward for inspiration. While browsing background info, I learned more about the John Muir. His earthy conservationist character inspired the canvas beige and the forest green. He served as the anchor for design. Now, I needed a counter point to balance the design and add vibrancy. Pop art and its practitioners are about as far from John Muir as you can get. I love Pop Art and Andy Warhol is iconic. I chose a bright red, teal, blue, and sappy orange color palette to create the overprint effect. The crosswise image of a tree creates the frame for the logo with the descriptor "sapling sized hazy pale ale" adds playfulness.
