Daily UI #036 - Special Offer

Thoughts

Today I wanted to try to take a step outside my Designer Comfort Zone, incorporating a different color palette and typeface than I routinely reach for first. Typically, I tend to favor deeper purples or bright color palettes, accompanied by modern san-serif fonts and rounded components.

For the subject matter of the challenge, I wanted to focus on a fashion accessory, because it is a slice of design I don’t normally think about. The aesthetic I was trying to mimic is the style I see in fashion magazines, with large san serifs, dynamic grids, dynamic photography, and skin tone color palettes. I like how the shot came out but I would like to explore this style more in the future.

I like trying to take opportunities to try out new design aesthetics. I believe it is a good skill to have to be able to adapt and to design for the market you are trying to address.
