Illustrated Album Covers - Apollo 18 by They Might Be Giants

Inspired by the illustrations from classic children's books, this is one of 18 new illustrated album covers I put together for an art show in my hometown.

Apollo 18 – They Might Be Giants’ fourth album, and home to the suite of super-short “Fingertips” songs, made to pop up between longer songs when listening to the CD with the new and exciting “shuffle” feature. 1992 was quite a time.

All album covers were initially sketched in pencil, then scanned into Illustrator and then traced into a Live Paint vector image. Shading and strokes were added in Illustrator as well, using the amazing RetroSupply Co. Gouache Shader Brushes.
