USC Thornton Jazz Concert Posters

One of my favorite challenges while designing for a music school (USC Thornton School of Music) was trying to visually show different genres of music. Marketing materials promoting jazz concerts needed to feel distinct from other classical, choral or baroque recitals. I enjoyed finding out the pieces that would be performed or listening to the composers as I designed away. A delight for the senses! Plus, jazz is just so wonderfully fun and unexpected– it often leaves plenty of measures for improvisation. There are endless possibilities for a talented jazz musician to adapt a piece and make it their own! Anyway, I hope that you can find a playful jazz song to design to as you get to work today! :)
