Business card scanner

The problem: When users are at trade shows, conferences and events business cards are a big way to get new leads to start communicating with. But getting these into the CRM is the hard part, having to manually enter them or pay for a service to add them.

Hypothesis: Offering a mobile first solution to scan the business card data into the CRM will save the user valuable time that they can refocus on other plans.

Results: Without quoting any business numbers, and comparing the first month to now the number of monthly business card scans has increased 7x. Scan business card now also accounts for 34% of the contacts created on mobile. The increase in contacts created could also be attributed to or increase in the user base.

Future iterations: Manual entry is still the most popular our users enter contacts, so possible future solution is to have manual entry be one click away instead of two, and on that screen have scan business card / import contacts as secondary actions. Thus reducing friction for the users.
