Kairos | opportunity

There comes a time when each one of us wants to change our luck, be in front an opportunity we won’t let pass. The greek’s contribution to the study of luck is hidden in the myth of Kairos.

The obvious
if I’m moving left to right most of the time and the opportunity flashes in front of me for an instant, it is coming from the opposite direction.

The not so obvious
If opportunity itself is faster than me and is coming the opposite direction that I’m going, then what can I do. Because Kairo’s head has only a long lock of hair in the front, I deduce that I can grab him (opportunity) only when it is still moving towards me.

The never obvious
Kairos is holding a scale in an odd way: his right arm is balancing the scale purposely towards him. Is this because he is more interested in an opportunity as each one of us is? I don’t think so. What the author is telling us, and what all mythologies tell us too, is that Kairos is putting who ever wants an opportunity to the test in an un-fair way. Because to be in front of an opportunity is to be in front of the divine, and that is something to not mess with. It requires to go beyond the average, beyond one’s limits.

This is the code to seizing any opportunity
This is the Kairos code
