Daily UX Writing: Day 1

✏️Daily UX Writing: Day 1

Finally started my UX Writing practice! Scenario: A traveler is in an airport waiting for the last leg of a flight home when their flight gets abruptly canceled due to bad weather.

Challenge: Write a message from the airline app notifying them of the cancellation and what they need to do next.

Headline: 45 characters Body: 175 characters max Button(s): 25 characters max

I've never experienced having a flight canceled so it was a bit tricky for me to come up with possible options to present to the user. I headed on to Google and searched what customers can do when their flight is canceled (reference).

Customers may rebook their flight or opt for reimbursement. It's the airline's responsibility to provide accommodations, food, drinks, and transportation.

I wanted to provide a clear and straightforward copy for the users since we probably pissed off our customers and they would want to know what happened and what they can do about it. First, I presented the problem which says that their flight was canceled. Second, I presented possible remedies (reimbursement/rebooking). Third, what they can avail (meals, accommodation, and refreshments).

Also, it would be effective to add a push notification since it's an urgent notice.

Please leave me some feedback. It's my first time doing this challenge and I'd love to improve on the next 😉
