Responsive Math Teaching

In early 2019 Qubit teamed up with the good folks at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education (GSE) to develop a logo treatment for their new Responsive Math Teaching project.

RMT is a design-based project focused on improving mathematics education in a network of urban elementary schools through a research-practice partnership between Penn GSE and the School District of Philadelphia.

Penn GSE commissioned us to create a clean mark that worked within the Ivy League institution’s strict branding guidelines, while aligning with the school system the program was developed to support. The resulting solution features a simple rounded sans serif which contrasts and balances the 1920’s era serif typeface that comprises the Penn GSE logo.
