Stop Fire - Save The Amazon Rainforest

This is all the character of my illustration - Mother Nature or Spirit of the Forest - has to say. She has no resources to fight back any more. She’s going to die unless we take measures to stop this tragedy and this madness.

The amazon being the largest rainforest in the world, vital in the fight against global warming, home to one million indigenous people and millions of plants and animals has been burning for 3 weeks now. As fires are raging at a record rate in Brazil, Indonesia is witnessing a similarly devastating ecological tragedy. We're losing species we do not even know exist. The rainforest that has been there for almost 55 million years is now dying because of us.

Not just in Brazil, deforestation in the name of ''development'' is a worldwide issue that causes climate change. It’s one of the biggest threats to biodiversity and it makes forests more vulnerable to natural disasters such as wildfires. However, there's a view that this disaster is not at all natural, and this is the most frightening and infuriating part. Environmental experts say the wildfires were set by cattle ranchers and loggers who want to clear and utilize the land, emboldened by the country's pro-business president.
