Telegram Voice Calling

In the age of smartphones, it can sometimes be easy to forget the original purpose of the telephone: to 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 people.

These days, calling is considered intrusive, and doing so without prior notice can seem rude—or at the very least, old school. Calls are for high-priority cases, when a simple text message won’t do the job.

But what if calls didn’t have to be disruptive, or monopolize the user’s time and attention? Imagine if Telegram put call controls right into users’ hands, so they could continue to use the app while knowing the status of the call and still be able to do things like accept, decline, and end calls.

Sounds tempting, doesn’t it?

The concept above offers Telegram users more control. Someone calls when you’re in the middle of a message? No problem, just collapse the calls module, finish your text, and accept the call without having to open anything. Calling someone who’s taking too much time to answer? Collapse the module and go read a new post from your favorite Telegram channel. Don’t worry, you’ll still see when they pick up the phone, without it being intrusive.
