Adding a sign up flow

The initial MVP was to add a sign-up flow to the app which would give users access to our free features.

The problem: All users who download the app had to have an active account first, but what if this is a mobile first user, they can't do anything but wait until they are at their desktop.

Hypothesis: By offering sign-up to new downloaders of the app it will increase our WAUs and create a revenue stream for the business.

Results: Without quoting any actual business numbers, based on our first 30 days of data we have over doubled our monthly sign-ups, helping to increase our WAUs 4x since this went live. Our latest conversation rate of the funnel is 30% which we have increased from 20% since launch with iterations and tweaks along the way. Annual recurring revenue can now be attributed to a mobile sign up for the business.
