Daily UI 009 - Music player

Okay, I finally started listening to Hadestown the musical and can't stop. Fingers crossed I'll get to see it in person soon!

Process This is a concept for a music player specifically for musicals. Why? I think there are specific aspects of listening to cast albums that make the ideal experience different:

• Long track lists, often 24+ tracks per album (this one has 40) • Track sequence is important (one track often leads right into the next) • In a real performance, there is typically an intermission between acts (and the last song of act 1 is usually climactic) • Lyrics are more important than ever because they're telling a complete story • Many artists are credited on the same album, since it's a whole cast, and I'd like to know who's playing which character • Personally, I pay attention to who wrote the musical and would like to see that information (but unlike other music, they usually aren't performing too)

Music players like Spotify aren't tailored to this type of information, so it's a bit awkward when musicals are slotted in just like any other album.

Visual direction I thought it was time I experimented with a "dark mode" type interface. It's interesting how luminous certain color combinations look.

I also picked color combinations that I was pretty sure I'd never get to use in real life. A lady gets tired of corporate blue after a while. Unless perhaps Virgin Airlines is looking for a music player specializing in musicals, for some reason? Lmk.
