DailyUi 005, App Icon

#DailyUI 005 First of all, let me just say that I genuinely look forward to these daily challenges. Such a blast to dive into this on a daily basis and see what explodes from my mind. For this challenge, I was to design an app icon. “What best represents the brand or product? Or is it incredibly unique? Does it look great at a distance and does it stand out when put on your home screen alongside other apps?” I had a few vastly different ideas, but the one I decided to run with (pun intended, keep reading) was an icon for a game that I’ve envisioned for some time, an atmospheric side-scrolling action adventure platformer wherein the character changes from human to werewolf and back throughout the game, altering the goal and outcome based on the player’s present state of transformation… I chose to approach this challenge from the perspective of a designer responding to the needs of the client, presenting a design to the stakeholder that accurately represents the given product while also displaying clearly and cohesively among the other apps on the device or operating system (in this case, iOS).
