Indianapolis Volunteers

The Volunteers might not be the most threatening name, but it ties into the History of Indiana and represents the bravery and courage of the volunteer soldiers that fought in the American Civil War. Indianapolis celebrates it’s volunteer soldiers with a a large monument circle that marks the center of downtown. It is the first monument in the United States to be dedicated to the common soldier.
