How to make animated tiles in After Effect?
* prepare a bunch of square-shaped tiles, for example 100x100, 48 items or even more
* add them in the main composition 800x600
* shuffle the layers (using a script)
* distribute on the grid 8x6 (using a script)
* repeat the previous three steps 2 more times
* make precompositions of three layers - one layer from each added heap of layers (just using a script)
* in each precompose duplicate the first layer and move it to the bottom (using a script, Sir!)
* in the main composition add masks 100x100 to every precompose according to our grid 8x6 (agan use a script please)
* animate tiles with keys, in random order and easings to make it as smooooth as you like (yep, with a kinda complicated script)
* and finally to all animated precomps: add offset via Rift, add Time Remaping and extend the layers to the right
That's it!
