Think Inside The Box

Think inside the box. You can probably do more inside that box than you think.

I feel like some of my most creative work comes out of having restraints and boundaries. To me boundaries are freeing. I’m not worried about going too far. I’m not worried about getting off brand. I’m not worried about missing the heart of the audience.

I think of creative boundaries like having a fence around a playground. I can play and do whatever I want as long as I stay in the playground.

Is this always true. No, of course not. Sometimes it’s great to have absolute creative freedom. I also feel like my mind would explode if I worked on the same volume of projects as I do now, without any boundaries in place.

What about you? Do you like guidelines and restrictions or do you prefer to think outside the box?
