My goal in the final design was to create a mark that envoked a feeling of mysticism while including elements from the history of the nation's capital.

The Eye of Providence is featured on the back of the dollar bill and on the reverse side of the Great Seal of the United States where it is depicted with a single eye enclosed within a pyramid with beaming rays of light illuminating off of it. Those light rays were used to mimic and double as eyelashes to add a small touch of femininity to the design. The iris on the eye is made up of basketball seam lines that flow into the lashes/lightrays. The Washington Monument makes up the middle seam. The obelisk also ends in a pyramid shape at the top.

There are three stars on the D.C. flag which come from the Washington family coat of arms. The Mystics' NBA counterpart, the Washington Wizards also use three stars on their global logo.
