Hornet in the Wind: Hollow Knight Animation

Hollow Knight, my favorite indie game, is getting a full-on sequel coming out soon (called Hollow Knight: Silksong), and you'll get to play as one of the coolest characters from the first game: Hornet, Daughter of Hallownest. So I decided to make a quick little GIF of her signature cloak flapping in the wind as she looks forward to her upcoming adventure.

I learned a lot of random After Effects tricks while doing this. Sine waves, alpha silhouettes, noise grain texturing, looping repeaters, bend effects, and a bunch of other things. Crazy how so much goes into making something that ends up looking so simple and minimalist. Loved doing this and playing around with new effects that I had never used before.

Super pumped for Silksong as well!
