Science Journal Cover

A friend of mine invented this impressive process for assessing what elements of the periodic table were within a sample by using a plasma flame. It took the existing process, which took hours to days to complete, and got it down to 10 minutes.

He asked me to help make a cover for the journal it was being published in. There were a set number of elements that could be identified, so the thought was to use a picture of the plasma flame and have it illuminate the items in the table that were possible.
