Colorrs API Logo

So I need help creating a logo/poster image for the Colorrs API. The logo is for my website and the poster image is for display on protoco.de my new development company.

In my opinion the logo doesn't look good enough for me. I need some feedback on how to improve the logo. I'm open to any suggestions, even an entirely new logo or just changing the background of the logo to something other than white.

Also I need help with the design of the poster image its too be 960x640 and currently I have just enlarged the logo and put it on a white background, but I have gotten some negative feedback on both the logo and the poster image and I would like to know how to improve it. How should I take advantage of that (relatively large) canvas?

What is the Colorrs API?
In short its a unique API I created for fetching photos based on the colors in them. So far users can search forrst, dribbble, or user uploaded photos. To learn more about it check it out on protoco.de
