Song for Congress No. 3

You might already know, since I keep sharing it all over the place, but for the last few months I’ve been listening to Nada Surf’s “Song for Congress” on near-continuous repeat.

It’s an intercession for basic decency to prevail. It’s a call to red, blue, purple, left, right and every ideology in between to seek out our common humanity.

The track might be just about the most beautifully heart wrenching, and truly patriotic song I’ve ever heard. If you haven’t heard it yet, go give it a listen.

Of course I did the designer cliche and made a poster about something that moved me, but I’m gonna make sure this is hanging on the wall to remind me of its message whenever I glance up.
