LOVE IS A VERB

This is a phrase a friend of mine used to say a lot. It didn’t used to mean much to me, but the older I get the more I understand what he meant by it. Love is not a passive act, it requires constant effort. Similar to being good at running or other active pursuits, your skill at it evolves over time. It requires continual practice, recalibration, realignment with yourself and others. Not everyone puts the work in to get good at it, so when you find someone who has, recognize it as a gift. And practice with care!
