Daily UI #001 - Sign Up
Before I discuss my thoughts on Challenge #001, I wanted to give a quick explanation for why I wanted to start the Daily UI Challenge.
To put it simply, there were 4 reasons:
1. To sharpen my skills as a Visual Designer.
2. Learn how to use Figma.
3. Network and see what other designers are coming up with.
4. Make a potential portfolio piece.
I am excited to see where this challenge will take me. I hope I can make it to day 100!

I must admit, making it to the finish line could be a daunting task, but I am confident that I will get there!
I did some research to see what to expect, and to see how other designers were approaching the challenge. From that research, the main thing I determined is that I should "create" a company to be the centerpiece of most of the challenges. That could get me a new portfolio piece, as well as increase my production time since I only need to create one design system.
The fake company I ended up "creating" is called Shaper, a product company that delivers a lifestyle App focusing specifically on exercise, mindfulness, and visualization to achieve one's goals. While I am working on the challenge, I will be developing the architecture of Shaper as well. I am curious to see where the brand ends up.

My thoughts on challenge #001 Sign-Up:
After fleshing out the basics for my company Shaper, it was clearer to see how I wanted to approach creating the sign-up page.
I wanted to create a hybrid landing page where a user would be sent to through CTA's or other marketing collateral. Also, I wanted to show the responsive design, displaying tablet and phone resolutions. If I find the time, I plan on animating how I envision the interactions of components taking place.
For the aesthetic, I wanted the design to have a clean and modern look, with large areas of negative space giving the user a calm and smooth experience. I also wanted to be sure to use UX best practices when it came to the buttons and instructional language.
I felt I could have gotten more adventurous with certain aspects of the design, but I don't want to spend a literal 24 hours on each challenge.
1 down, 99 to go.
