Preventing Corruption in Aid app
Transparency International (TI) gives voice to the victims and witnesses of corruption. Corruption in humanitarian assistance is a major obstacle to sustainable change, as it deprives the most vulnerable people of life-saving necessities. Working together with governments, businesses, and citizens, TI is fighting to stop the abuse of power, bribery and unmonitored exchange.
Lucid was approached by the Norwegian chapter of the organisation to develop Preventing Corruption in Humanitarian Operations App, derived from the Pocket Guide of Good Practices with the same name. In 2017, the app was developed in association with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A clear interface allows the user to swipe through three sections of the handbook. Within each section, users are then able to filter results by entering a keyword. The Preventing Corruption in Aid App makes it simple to find practical information and suggestions on how to react when faced with corruption challenges in the field.
The app is used in over 50 countries by humanitarian workers and advocates, who require guidance in identifying and handling corruption risks in operations. In the future, users will be able to monitor and report violations they encounter and detect through the app. This function will provide TI with valuable data, crucial to enhancing their fight against corruption.
