Ship XPO Last Mile Delivery App (Desktop/Mobile)

I personally did the UI for this application. However, I must approve the UI developed by offshore teams. And, they are required to follow the style guides put together by myself and the UX team.

Goal: To design a visually appealing interface for delivery drivers and managers to track and anticipate delivery routes and possible delays. Expand style guide to design patterns beyond basic pop-up notifications.

Solution: Designed a progress circle and notifications to provide instant updates for drivers on enroute to a delivery. The UI had to be easy to navigate from a mobile device, providing information at a glance. Based on Material Design elements from XPO Logistics style guides.

Summary: This interface allows for management of last mile deliveries from the warehouse to the customer. Drivers and logistic managers use the application for desktop and mobile to manage routes and estimate times of arrival (ETAs), which allows the customer to anticipate and schedule deliveries.

My role: XPO uses Google's Material Design theming with slight variations for personalized expression without deviating from the basic usability of Material Design. Although, we sent much of our UI development off-shore, I was responsible for design patterns and style guides for all projects, and created the main elements for this one on location. On this project, I created a more defined style guide and UX design patterns that could be reused in many locations on the application. I proposed a more visually appealing circular progress indicator that expanded the UI beyond simple text notifications, providing easier consumption of information for active drivers. It is used here in the desktop version and works equally well in mobile. Additional offshore updates were approved by me after completion.
