San Marcos Traffic Box Project/ 2016
Site-specific and large, the goal was to introduce design into a busy on-street traffic environment that operated from a pre-language state. A pillar wrapped in some kind of simple pictograms or shapes - at once a mystery and understood.
The original sketches came from hundreds of cut-paper designs that were scanned, remeasured. drawn in vectors ad corrected, and then relaid as the original patterns.
Too successful, it brought too much attention and was removed within a year.
