Cotton Candy Skies
AIGA Las Vegas: LUSH art + words, a gallery exhibit/event scheduled for First Friday in July at Art Square in downtown Las Vegas. The theme is type-based artwork combining words from a local poet, with art from a local designer.
I was given the words of Las Vegas-based writer Jesse Pino, in the form of his poem Cotton Candy Skies.
If I close my eyes, and picture you
I drift away to another place
Only in dreams
It's you and I, and these cotton candy skies
and you're holding me...here in your arms
Hold me here in your arms
I remember how we wandered through the rain
and the neon lights colored the sky
cold wind
black hair
green eyes
that stare
I could die in your arms.
...I could die in your arms
