Article summary:
In the summer of 2018 there were several forest fires in Norway. One such fire stretched 20 kilometres along a train line, which was investigated by the Accident Investigation Board Norway, to find the cause and how to avoid further fires.

The fire was caused by a freight train which had a freight car with its breaks engaged. The sparks from the freight car and the dry warm weather ignited the surrounding shrubbery and forest.
