Chicago Icons

I had so much fun working on these icon explorations for things Chicago is known for. Some are more recognizable than others (hellooo deep dish 😋🍕), but I think the ramp (Allium tricoccum) deserves some love.

I learned recently that the Native American word for ramps, translated to French, is where "Chicago" comes from. I ate some for the first time recently and they are really tasty.

If I were to spend more time on this project, I'd swap out the generic piano keys for something else that better represents the city's rich music history, and add more icons to represent Chicago architecture and transportation.
