Discussion by Jorge Luis Borges

Sudamericana (Penguin Random House) published this month a new edition of "Discussion" in which Jorge Luis Borges reunites several essays and, specially the "The argentine writer and tradition" one in which he says that "Our patrimony is the universe; we should essay all themes [...] I believe that if we surrender ourselves to that voluntary dream which is artistic creation, we shall be argentine and we shall also be good or tolerable writers." Exposing it was our purpose when discussing this cover illustration displaying The Southern Cross, maybe the first constellation that every argentine child recognizes in his life.
