Nene Pakande (Sulawesi Selatan, Indonesia 🇮🇩)

Nene Pakande is one folklore from South Sulawesi specifically in buginese community. Parents usually tell the story to frighten their children to not to go out playing faraway from home. Some sources also relate the folklore with dutch colony's conspiracy after taking the indigences' heads to build the bridge. Nene Pakande itself, is a story about evil wizard old woman who loved to kidnap children to become her slaves or victims to eat and make her stronger. Parents emphasize to their children that Nene Pakande eager the naughty children the most as one way to frighten and educate their children not to be naughty.
In longer version, Nene Pakande would be deafeted by all the villagers unity under the lead of La Beddu', a wise man from another village. They worked together by trapping her using lice,giant voice, and eels. They finally saved the children and Nene Pakande perished.
